The undisputed ghosts of the flats. The Berry Islands are renowned for vast, wadable sand flats where tailing bonefish are a daily occurrence. While large schools are plentiful, our fishery is famous for quality over quantity. Expect an average fish of 3 to 4 pounds, with very real daily shots at 5 to 10-pound Bahamian trophies. Come to the berrys to hunt big bones
Permit
The Holy Grail

The ultimate saltwater puzzle. Permit fishing in the Berrys is a closely guarded secret, offering legitimate shots at one of the hardest fish to fool on a fly. Our guides are obsessed with tracking these black-tailed devils. Manage to fool one, and you’ll earn the coveted Soul Fly custom permit medallion and a wooden plaque on the wall.
Mutton Snapper
A Welcomed Surprise
A highly prized and discerning flats resident. Found cruising the shallows—especially in warmer months—mutton snappers are incredibly wary and dive hard for Cover the second they are hooked. Fooling a big mutton in skinny water is a true test of your presentation.
Barracuda
The Apex Predator
The apex predator of the shallows. Often overlooked by flats anglers, barracuda offer some of the most explosive, lightning-fast strikes in the Bahamas. Armed with a wire bite tippet and a fast strip, provoking a massive 'cuda into a topwater feeding frenzy is a heart-pounding experience you won't soon forget.
Triggerfish
A Technical Target
Quirky, colorful, and notoriously selective. We are fortunate to have triggerfish actively tailing on our local flats right in the lodge's backyard. Earning an eat requires a stealthy approach and a well placed shrimp pattern. Once hooked, get ready for a chaotic, wily fight.
Other Species
Abundant Visuals
Although it is illegal to fish for sharks in the Bahamas, they are an incredible sight on the flats.  Lemons, blacktips, Nurse, tigers, hammerheads, and several other shark species roam these shallow waters.  We’ve run into some other strange critters on the flats like blue fin tuna, sawfish, eagle rays, leatherback turtles and much more.
